Umhlanga Rocks’ golden sandy beaches, many of them blue-flagged, stretch northwards for more than 200 kilometres, all the way to the spectacular Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site. Durban is a major centre of tourism due to the city's warm subtropical climate and its Golden Mile. This wide stretch of beach, separated by various piers, provides excellent opportunities for sun-worshippers, swimmers and surfers.
